At formation, BCT was the only one of its kind in the country Managed by members who are volunteers, compassionate and committed to rendering their time to the cause of breast and cervical cancer management. Membership is drawn from survivors, co-survivors, medical professionals, supporters and cancer advocates. Survivor to patient counseling by certified Reach for Recovery volunteer counselors At inception, adopted ward B21 at University Teaching Hospital, 35 bed capacity catering for patients from outside Lusaka and housing BCT office Sources of funds: fundraising activities and donations from well wishers Funds go towards supporting underprivileged patients in buying sanitary consumables, transport especially those from far flung areas, sourcing of post mastectomy accessories eg bras and prostheses Annual membership fee is in various categories at K150 going up to K15,000 for Corporate membership, members select desired category based on capability
